Wi-Fi can be both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it gives us the power to have the internet at our fingertips, and a curse because that connection can break in an instant.
Luckily, we may be on the verge of a breakthrough where the Wi-Fi and the Internet of Things can work together to provide better service.
This could be made possible by the Wi-Fi Alliance, a nonprofit striving to make Wi-Fi more accessible to those around the world. The announcement of Wi-Fi Alliance’s most recent technology, HaLow, promises to do just this by working to increase Wi-Fi’s connection capabilities.
HaLow will work by extending Wi-Fi’s current range and decreasing the current bandwidth to 9000MHz. Doing so will result in a need for less battery required power.
Businesses use IoT technologies to keep up with the flood of consumer information that pours into their system. Having a better option for Wi-Fi will make the process run smoother and lead to more reliable results.
Yet again, the Internet of Things seems to be setting the pace for the future in terms of how businesses approach data and analytics.
